Multimedia Performance and Panel Discussion

The Wisconsin Academy invites you to join in an exploration of innovation in science education. The Art of Teaching will kick off with “The Deep Groove: A Sonic Journey into Earth’s Interior,” a multimedia performance by tadada Scientific Lab featuring UW–Madison geoscience professor Stephen Meyers and Mr. Chair. The performance will be followed by a short reception and panel discussion with Meyers and other leading science educators from Wisconsin, including Alan Attie, Stefan Debbert, and Christine Kelly.

Ticketed performance: 6 PM
Free Panel Discussion: 7:30 PM

Don't miss this double bill with local innovators Filament Duo!

Filament (DeLane Doyle and Aaron Gochberg) is a new-music percussion duo seeking to widen the reach of contemporary concert music by exploring the interactions of audience and performer, of sound and space, and of technology and innovation. Filament seeks to create memorable experiences by challenging listener’s expectations without pretension. In their performance, Filament will debut original music and perform selections from contemporary percussion duo repertoire.

Tickets are $10 in advance at https://mrchair.bpt.me and $15 at the door. Student tickets $5 off with valid school ID. Advance tickets are available online until 1 hour before the show. Doors open at 7:30pm.

Mr. Chair, recently described as "avant-prog electric jazz chamber music", performs with cartoonist/illustrator/poet Will Santino Illustration (@will_santino_illustration on Instagram). 

The collaboration will feature Will's live illustrating projected onto the Robinia Courtyard wall.

Free and all ages. Music begins at 7:00PM, after a cheese raffle.

Enjoy the fruits and labors of Jardin at Robinia CourtyardMadisonTap, and Black Locust Cafe while you listen to new music and witness heartfelt, funny, and thought-provoking art created in the moment.
